There are a lot of guys on the department with this light. And I know why. It's not too big and bulky, but very bright.

I bought this light for my boyfriend who is a firefighter and absolutely loves it. He says that it cuts through smoke very nicely and he takes it with him into every fire. Money well spent!

Brightest flashlight I've ever ownedApr 11, 2011

By far the brightest flashlight I've ever owned. Also rugged, stands up on it's own, and waterproof in the rain of the Pacific NW.
None of the previous reviewers mentioned the "moonlight mode" [quotes from Streamlight's own website]. If you hold the power switch down until it cycles through all the other settings [about 8 seconds or so], it goes into "moonlight mode", which is about as bright as a standard cheap LED flashlight. Per Streamlight, this can be left on "for days" without running out of power. While dim in comparison with "burn your eyes out" high power, it would be great for trail hiking after dark or moving around a campground at night.
This goes in my truck anytime I'm out after dark now.

My Paranormal Research team use these as our main flashlights. They are very powerful, durable, and the battery lasts a long time. These are a must have when exploring dark places that need a lot of bright light to see

I really like this flashlight.It's well built and seems to cut through the smoke pretty well. The large button on top is great when you have your structure gloves on and the three position button is a nice feature!
