Love it!!Sep 20, 2010
By Neeena I had an H1000 by the same company in the past and loved it until I lost it during a camping trip. The only problem was that the H1000 did not have an adapter for my iPhone. I tried purchasing another H1000, but realized that it had been replaced by this new Rocsta. The funky yellow color is awesome (it will hopefully help me from loosing this one, lol), it seems to charge a bit more quickly then before (full day of sun charges it completely), and it came with a tip for my iPhone 4 right in the box! Another cool thing is that it also came with a light adapter tip. It's a cool little flashlight that comes in handy while poking around in the tent and such. All in all, I'm very happy with this solar charger.
Only for emergency charging solutions.Feb 11, 2012
By Robert Combs Bottom Line: This product may be useful as an emergency charger. After a full day's sun, it has enough juice to charge my iPhone4 to 40%. That's really not enough to power my iPhone for backpacking. If you are looking for a primary source of backpacking power, this isn't it, unless you buy two of them, perhaps.
In comparison, if you buy three or four of these: 1000mAh Mini External Backup Battery Charger Power Pack, or perhaps four of these: Stitchway UltraPower 1900 mAh (BLACK) Backup Battery Charger then you can carry several backup batteries for the same price and weight. The latter batteries give nearly a full charge on the iPhone 4.
Another drawback for the Rocsta is are the many pieces and parts that can get lost, rendering the unit worthless.
Moreover, while charging a device, distracting charging indicator light flashes which is needlessly draining the battery.
This product isn't yet to the point where you could depend on it for your iPhone backpacking needs, and it's multiple drawbacks mean 'not ready for prime time.'

Piece of Junk.Jul 05, 2011
By GrndLkNatv I have bought several of these devices just to check out the current technology. I am in an engineer who is curious if this stuff really works since I remember very well how well it didn't work back in the time of Jimmy Carter as President. I have two chargers at this time, this Solio which when left in direct sunlight on a table outside completely stopped working and the solar charger from XTG which works very well for a solar charger. Right now I have had 2 charging sessions on my phone with the Solio, it barely charged up my phone when it was fully charged. Now you can push the button and nothing lights up, but if I plug the piece of junk into the USB on my computer and press the button it flashes 5 times saying it's fully charged. As soon as I unplug the USB, it's completely dead. Don't buy this unless you like throwing money down the drain. It's a first class piece of junk.

Nine kinds of handy.Nov 03, 2011
By Duffy P. Weber Gets my HTC Sensation back to about 40%. No replaceable battery (unless you're an engineer, then have yourself some fun with this bad boy ; .
Solar and USB charging work fine, and it's nice to have it with you on the go. Saved my tail several times.

I would not purchase this product after my experiences with it.Jul 19, 2011
By outdoorsy This quit working after owning it for 1 year, it seems the internal battery will not hold a charge. Very easy to lose the special usb adaptor it takes to enable it to charge . I would not recommend this product, there is no way to replace the internal battery.
